J\u00f3zsefv\u00e1ros – the 8th district of Budapest<\/strong><\/p>\n

The history of J\u00f3zsefv\u00e1ros dates back to the 18th century. The district was populated by craftsmen arriving from the territory of the Habsburg monarchy. By the end of the 19th century city palaces, university buildings, tenement houses, shops, restaurants formed the townscape. The district became a multicultural area, social classes, languages and religions mixed and melted. This diversity still determines everyday life of the district.<\/p>\n

School history<\/strong><\/p>\n

The school was founded as a special education school for mild mentally disabled children in 1951. Later children with learning disabilities and language difficulties were also accepted in the school. Our school moved to its present location in 1989. In 2005 the school became a complex institution of special education with two departments: Special Education Elementary school and Visiting Teacher Service.<\/span><\/p>\n

The school today<\/strong><\/p>\n

The special education elementary school is specialized in mild mental disabilities, autism and ADHD. As an elementary school we have 8 grades, we provide elementary education and we also prepare our pupils for secondary education. The visiting teacher service provides special needs therapies for integration schools and kindergartens in the 5<\/span>th<\/span>, 6<\/span>th<\/span>, 7<\/span>th<\/span> and 8<\/span>th<\/span> districts of Budapest. We are specialized in language impairments, articulation disorders, learning disabilities, autism and ADHD.<\/span><\/p>\n

Teaching and sharing good practices<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sharing teaching methods and good practices has a long tradition in our school. Since 2015 the school has formed professional relationships in order to continue and maintain this tradition. The school provides teaching practice for teacher trainees of the B\u00e1rczi Guszt\u00e1v Faculty of Special Needs Education at E\u00f6tv\u00f6s L\u00f3r\u00e1nd University. The school is a European Accredited Talent Point. We share our good practices with teachers as a partner institution of the Educational Authority.<\/p>\n
